MÖTLEY CRÜE's NIKKI SIXX: Upcoming CD 'Has To Be The Best Album We've Ever Made'
March 22, 2006MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx has posted the following message in his online diary:
"Great to be back in Mexico. The fans are passionate, to say the least, here.
"One more show before we head into Texas. Then just three more weeks of touring and we're finally done.
"The band's all getting along great and writing music together. Can't really tell where the music is headed yet, you just have to close your eyes and let it happen. The only thing we all agree on is it has to be the best album we've ever made.
"The photo shoot is done for 'The Heroin Diaries' [Nikki's collection of diary entries], and Paul Brown is working on laying out all the artwork. It's gonna be a huge task considering the vision. I spoke to the publisher and they're really excited about this book. You want them to love it as much as you do if they're gonna get behind it (looks like an October/November release). The more it sells, the more awareness on drug and alcohol addiction and the more money it will raise for 'Running Wild in the Night' and 'Covenant House'. It's really a great read now that all the pieces of the puzzle are in place. So many people came to the table to tell there side of the story relating to the actual diary entries. The title of the book is somewhat misleading cause it also deals with my family problems as a kid, depression as well as my downward spiral into freebase and pill addiction as well etc. etc. Lemmy [MOTÖRHEAD] wrote a short medical history for the beginning of the book, very demented — like only Lemmy can be. There is an album's worth of songs already written for a soundtrack to the book ready to record. I'’d say its very '70s glam sounding. Bits remind me of BOWIE and T-REX with a darker edge to the melodies and lyrics."
